Verdex Capital (formerly AVAC Group) is a purpose-driven, evergreen venture capital firm that invests in the Canadian food and agricultural sectors. Our mission is to advance Canadian agriculture by investing in venture and community development. We look to invest in ways that achieve strong financial returns with measurable environmental and social impact.We invest directly in companies we form through our venture studio, Carrot Ventures. We co-invest in high-impact venture and community development initiatives with other industry leaders. We also invest selectively as an LP in other fund managers.Verdex Capital also manages Accelerate Fund I, an angel co-investment venture fund targeting early stage Alberta tech opportunities.Since its inception in 1997, Verdex Capital has invested directly in over 120 companies, and as a Limited Partner in 14 venture capital funds.
