The first service delivers sanctions transaction screening, built on industry standards and improved processes.As a Senior Software Engineer I am responsible for:• Building software solutions for sanctions transaction screening using Java 17 and 21, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, Gradle, GitHub, GIT, and AWS• Development of automated BDD tests using Selenium and Cucumber• Assisting with deployments using Helm charts• Software development in accordance with Agile approach (SAFe - Scaled Agile Framework), following TDD practices• Reporting to Technical Lead, operating as part of a 4-7 strong engineering team• Reviewing and giving feedback on others’ code• Mentoring and coaching junior members of the team• Participating in the team\'s Agile planning and delivery process• Troubleshooting and resolution of issues throughout the product life cycle

I am a Software Engineer whose career spanned more than 20 years in various industries and sectors.I operate with an extensive knowledge of Java 17 and 21, Spring, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, ElasticSearch, MS SQL Server, Oracle, Neo4j and MongoDB databases, which allows me to jump into new projects quickly regardless of the industry.In recent years I have worked within Agile delivery environments, and consider the principles of the methodology very important to the success of software development. I believe the key to the Agile methodology is the focus on the operational benefit of solutions.Having worked in software verification at the beginning of my career I consistently operate with this viewpoint, often putting myself in someone else’s shoes and viewing the system from a business perspective in order to create consistent code that can be simply adapted to suit shifting needs.I am based in London, UK.
