ABOUT MWOHANIA TAYLOR
My recent experience in the health field is based around education, communications, and data analytics. I have the ability to learn responsibilities quickly, I am very adaptable to work duty changes, I am comfortable working in a foreign environment, and I am flexible with scheduling. I am in the process of completing my Masters in Public Health with a concentration in Global Health while demonstrating proficiency in Spanish, French, and Portuguese. My career profile reveals my ability to successfully fulfill the requirements of any entry level public health position. Most of these skills were developed during my time in Colombia but were further reinforced by my experience in Brazil. My experience working and studying in a foreign country helped me gain a new perspective towards the filed of health. While in Santiago de Cali, Colombia I developed an interest for working in underprivileged communities. I quickly learned that in places when the socioeconomic divide is large the burden of providing health care services falls onto the community. In areas with limited resources there is a higher demand for support, and I feel that is where I would be of best use. In Salvador, Brazil I spent most of my time volunteering with local health organizations. My previous experience has helped to prepare me for working abroad. Living in foreign countries has taught me the value of organization, respect, patient, creativity, and enthusiasm. Working with people from so many diverse backgrounds also helped me to learn how to be culturally flexible. Living abroad has also helped with my language immersion. I understand the importance of proper time management, I have learned how to be resourceful in difficult situations, and take pride in properly doing my job.
