Part of the University of Cambridge, CE supports academics, researchers, staff and students in achieving knowledge transfer and research impact for both financial and societal benefit. As the SLT member for technology, I work with business units and teams to provide expertise, support and advice on their requirements; develop the IT strategy integrated with the company’s; and research, recommend and deliver new technology solutions. Leading an in-house IT team extended by third-party suppliers, I work to improve engagement with customers, streamline business processes to increase staff effectiveness and support delivery of strategic ambitions. Projects delivered over this time include move of the entire IT stack into ‘the cloud’ and decommission of all legacy on-premise infrastructure, centralised management of all end-user devices, significant enhancement to CRM, BI, business and finance systems, launch of web sites, development and delivery of collaborative remote working and Cyber Security strategy.
