ABOUT MERES J. WECHE

I’m a technical founder, bilingual (French/English) digital content publisher, and senior consultant with 20+ years of experience in creating content and communication strategies for brand campaigns, websites, and social media. I’m deeply involved in the arts and culture sector in both North America and the Middle East. I’m a two-time official judge for the JUNO Awards (Canada\'s music industry awards) and an accredited journalist with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) since 2006. I\'ve also worked with some of Canada\'s most prominent theatre companies to promote Canadian diverse talent on stage. My company was sub-contracted to provide an editorial & curatorial liaison team for the 2022 edition of Riyadh Art\'s Noor Riyadh Festival in Saudi Arabia, the world\'s largest light art festival. I worked closely with the main contractor, Havas Paris, to build a comprehensive communications strategy for the festival. I also continued supporting Riyadh Art as Content Lead through my later work at Edelman, where I helped shape the community engagement strategy for the two flagship festivals, and outlined the approved public communication categorization for the Riyadh Art public art collection. In addition, I build, publish, and manage content-driven e-commerce websites through my media company, Culture Shox Media. We are a content studio that creates impactful stories using words and images on our proprietary digital platforms and assists brands and global agencies in doing the same by tapping into our five main verticals: culture, travel, outdoors, careers, and shopping.You\'ll also find me engaging in interesting podcast conversations and exclusive interviews. My notable guests include- Tony West, Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer at Uber- Steven Guilbeault, Canada\'s former Minister of Environment and Climate Change- Mélanie Joly, Canada\'s Minister of Industry- Spike Lee, Oscar-winning film director, producer, screenwriter, actor, and author- David Rawlings, Chief Executive Officer for JPMorgan Chase & Co. in CanadaWorked for top Fortune 100 firms in the three core industries: Ex-Microsoft (Editor), Citi (Account Analyst), & Edelman (Director, Corporate Comms & Editorial).Interesting fact: I once wore the Canadian Grenadier Guards\' iconic red tunic and tall black bearskin hat as a ceremonial guard and Canadian Armed Forces reserve infantry soldier on Ottawa\'s Parliament Hill for two years. I was selected as a member of the Honour Guard for Queen Elizabeth II\'s visit to the nation\'s capital for Canada Day. many moons ago.
