Oversee investigations, programming and trainings related to compliance with Federal and State anti-harassment, anti-discrimination laws including Title V, Title VII and Title IX. • Conduct high-level prompt investigations into complaints involving faculty, staff and students. • Respond to complaints against the District filed with the Office of Civil Rights, Department of Fair Housing and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. • Annual review and update of the District’s policy and procedures to comply with required federal guidelines. • Conduct trainings on recognizing and eliminating unconscious bias in the hiring process. • Serve as chair for the District’s Equal Employment Opportunity Committee, responsible for developing programs, activities and awareness in the District’s equity in the hiring process, retention and teaching. • Coordinate Title IX efforts including the development, implementation, and monitoring of appropriate disclosures, policies and procedures according to Federal and State law. • Provide leadership and direction for EEO and Title IX programs, including consulting with senior personnel for the purpose of advising, and identifying necessary action to eliminate sex and/or gender-based discrimination in all educational programs and activities, to ensure access to facilities, opportunities and equitable resources throughout the District. • Represent District in student expulsion hearings with the Board of Directors. • Manage outside legal counsel. • Participate in negotiations with labor unions regarding investigative process and procedures.
