ABOUT KALYAN MANTRALA
I\'m a mechanical engineer who uses computing and data to solve problems that traditional approaches struggle with. At INNIO Waukesha, I built a machine learning framework from scratch for engine fault diagnostics - pitched it to senior engineers, developed it end-to-end, and achieved 98% detection accuracy using explainable AI. In the same internship, I led first piece qualifications on engine components worth $1M+ each, working across materials, quality, and production teams. Before that, at EY, I automated enterprise business processes and worked directly with clients on system migrations - which gave me an early appreciation for how data and automation create real operational impact. My academic background spans FEA, injection molding, metal casting, additive manufacturing, and robotics - with hands-on lab work in SEM/EDS, materials characterization, and forming processes. Right now I\'m actively exploring two tracks: data/business analytics roles where I can apply my Python, SQL, and analytical thinking to business problems, and quality/materials engineering roles in manufacturing where my PPAP, RCA, and characterization experience is directly applicable.
