ABOUT MUTIU FAKOREDE
Mutiu Fakorede is a seasoned strategy, finance, risk, audit & compliance management professional with experiences in different geographies, across the private and public sectors including financials services, humanitarian, telecommunications, manufacturing, oil & gas and construction. Over the years, he has honed his skills in project management, strategy, risk, fraud & compliance, internal control & audit, Basel & ICAAP while working with for multinational brands including KPMG, The United Nations, Wood Mackenzie/PCG, PML, RabloWoods. Having worked as a risk officer in FinBank, he joined KPMG as an experienced analyst and rose to Deputy Manager level in Internal Audit Risk & Compliance and later Financial Risk Management units. He had led different projects including strategic performance review and implementation of internal audit, ERM functions, credit, strategy and risk appetite, fraud management, Basel/ICAAP etc. He also led the Risk, Finance & Compliance group of PML Advisory Ltd as Associate Director. He worked as an international consultant focused on strategy, finance & risk with The UN focusing on resilience building & livelihood support, value chain & market access, vulnerability assessment, EMOP in line with UN\'s SDGs. He worked as VP with Wood Mackenzie & PCG Consulting on several Joint Venture Projects and governance improvement for national oil company and IOC/LOCs focusing on cash call, project management, contract & procurement, work program & budgeting. Currently, he is the CEO of Bridges & Barriers Advisory Services (which provides core management consulting and advisory services focusing on strategy, finance, risk and performance improvement). Mutiu is a 1st class graduate of Agricultural Economics, a Chartered Accountant (ACA), Chartered Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Risk Management Assurance (CRMA), International Banking Risk & Regulations (ICBRR), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), CIMA Cert.
