This is one of the most dynamic colleges in Manchester. It has a presence all over Greater Manchester and also in Warrington, Burnley, Liverpool and recently, in London. It has two independent activities. One of them, operating out of 17 sites, helps adults and young people train at levels up to Level 3 (A Levels), in subjects such as Maths, English, IT & Management. The purpose of the training is to make the clients more employable. The branches are government funded through learndirect, Work Programme and Foundation Learning projects. For people in work, MIC also provides a wide range of apprenticeship programmes. The other activity is to train adult overseas students at graduate and postgraduate levels in IT and Management. This is run from a campus in the university quarters. It also offers EFL (English as a foreign language). The company is well known in Manchester for the quality of its provision and the agility with which it responds to changes in the educational landscape.
