About Mushi Calixte

Mushi Calixte is the Workforce Development Specialist at Care New England. She was also an Executive Co-Chair of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee at The Providence Center. She has worked in the behavior health field for over 15 years. She is passionate about social justice where she can promote equitable access and opportunity to diverse groups of people within the community through advocacy, empowerment and social action. Mushi received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Rhode Island and her Master’s Degree in Human Services with a basis in Leadership and Organizational Management at Capella University.She is also passionate leader working with individuals in acute crisis situations assisting them with activities of daily living to help fulfill normalization in their lives. She enjoys working with people and giving back to her community by providing people with case management, psychiatry, medication management and therapy.As the former Manager of the Community Support Team at The Providence Center, she provided mental health and substance abuse counseling to individuals who have co-occurring disorders within the community.Mushi believes in order for the world to be a better place, we have to start within our communities and work together towards a common goal.
