About Mushfiqul Mush Islam
I grew up in New Jersey in an environment that rewarded discipline and resilience. From an early age, I learned that nothing was handed to me; I had to earn everything. At fifteen, I began working full-time while attending high school, balancing long shifts with demanding coursework. Those years taught me how to manage pressure, sacrifice comfort, and stay committed even when quitting would have been easier.During high school, I became a Shift Manager at Dunkin’, leading teams of up to thirteen people during intense rush hours. I learned how to lead through action, stay composed in fast-paced environments, and take responsibility for both people and outcomes. At the same time, I maintained a strong GPA, played defensive midfield on my lacrosse team, and held leadership roles across multiple honor societies, including President of the National Honor Society. I also organized charity events and volunteered consistently, because giving back was just as important to me as personal success.Beyond academics, I pursued entrepreneurship and creative expression through social media. I built a platform centered on my Bengali heritage and educational content, growing it to over followers. What began as passion evolved into real-world impact through brand partnerships, interviews, and the launch of my own clothing line. Being featured on platforms such as FamousBirthdays strengthened my confidence, communication skills, and ability to connect with diverse audiences. At Drexel University, I’ve continued to push myself beyond the classroom. I currently serve as President of the Drexel Institute of Transportation Engineers, Sergeant at Arms of Theta Tau, a mentor within the Engineering Leadership Society, and Office Manager for the Civil and Architectural Engineering Department. These roles allow me to support students and contribute meaningfully to my academic community.Professionally, I worked as a Project Manager for the Princeton University Art Museum, supporting active construction by coordinating contractors, reviewing progress against schedules, and assisting with budget and field documentation. I also served as a Project Inspector on the MLK Jr. Dr. Bridge project, conducting on-site inspections, documenting construction progress, and verifying work compliance with plans and safety standards.I am a self-made engineering student driven by hard work, accountability, and vision. My goal is to build a career in construction management while growing into the business side of engineering, leading projects that create lasting, meaningful impact.
