Founder of a non profit organization that provides resources and aid to Afghan immigrants and nationals. At Afghans Empowered, we connect Afghans worldwide through the power of representation and advocacy. We partner with international NGOs to implement community-based projects that address issues related to migration, education, human rights, gender equality, and poverty.We operate a community center in Athens Greece and provide the following services: English, Greek, and digital literacy courses, psychosocial services for women, employment navigation, legal services, and cultural services for Afghans living in Southern Greece. In broader Europe, we work in networks with organizations across Germany, Spain, and Switzerland to promote and safeguard asylum rights, and advocate for the inclusion of migrants and refugees in European society. We provide much needed support for exiled and displaced Afghan human rights defenders, and civil society leaders who have fled persecution in Afghanistan.
