About Munteha Khatun

From a village without electricity to labs measuring molecules — my work began as a promise I made while holding my grandmother’s hand as she died of cancer in 2009. That promise is simple: no one should be left behind because of where they were born.I am a physician (MBBS 2022) and clinician-researcher who combines bedside care with translational innovation and community teaching. As an RMO I manage hundred of patients in (ICU, medical, surgical, gynecology ward), supervise trainees, lead acute responses, and learn from every patient I meet. My US clinical exposure (University of Miami, UAB, FIU) sharpened my clinical reasoning; at UAB I was first author on a pediatric surgery case report.In the lab I co-developed a CSRR metamaterial microwave urine glucose sensor with collaborators at College of Medicine, Sagar Dutta Hospital, and IIEST Shibpur — a low-cost, noninvasive approach that detects subtle dielectric changes in urine for early diabetes screening. I’ve also worked on breast-cancer projects for early detection of residual cancer using infrared waves and diabetic-foot interventions using micro-jet devices. These projects reflect my goal: build affordable, scalable tools that reach people before illness becomes catastrophic.Outside medicine I run Rise Above Rainbow, a multilingual newsletter and YouTube channel delivering free preventive-health education to underserved communities. I volunteer with street children, special-needs programs, and substance-use outreach. I swim,paint, play badminton,bollywood music fan and recharge in nature — small rituals that keep me grounded.I’m actively seeking research fellowships and mentorship, partners to help build community health schools and hospital.
