About Muniza Ahmed
With a Bachelor\'s of Science in Biomedical Engineering from UC Irvine, I’ve gained a strong foundation in both technical (CAD, 3D Printing, MATLAB, Microsoft 365, etc.) and soft skills (Leadership, Critical Thinking, Engineering Writing, etc.). As a student, I worked at Toro Neurovascular to develop an innovative neurovascular catheter and UCI\'s Microbiomechanics Lab to develop a neonatal device, building confidence and passion for a career in the medical device field. Following my undergraduate studies, I joined Applied Medical, a surgical device company that encourages process development and optimization for advanced medical devices. By leveraging Six Sigma methodologies and DMAIC principles, I maintained and improved product/process performance and reduced production costs. I strive to sharpen my understanding of engineering principles and foster a positive and growth mindset, learning from every victory and hardship throughout my career.Driven by this mindset, I’m passionate about improving patient outcomes through accessible medical technologies, and contributing to a positive mission.
