ABOUT MUNENDER VARSHNEY

Currently, I serve as a Senior Research Engineer at Research and Development Center, Hitachi India, where I delve into the fascinating world of multi-modal learning. Previously, I had the privilege of nurturing young minds as a faculty member at UPES Dehradun, fostering a deep appreciation for knowledge sharing and mentorship. My academic journey led me to pursue a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kanpur, where I delved into groundbreaking research endeavors that continue to shape my trajectory today. Before that, I honed my skills as a research intern at TCS Research Kolkata, gaining invaluable insights into real-world challenges. Driven by an insatiable curiosity, my research interests span across multi-modal understanding, 3D face reconstruction, self-supervised learning, and active learning, with a keen focus on pushing the boundaries of technological innovation. My academic foundation was further strengthened through an MS (by Research) from IIT Mandi, where I developed a solid understanding of theoretical concepts and their practical applications. With over five years of academic research experience coupled with industry expertise gained at Hitachi India, TCS Research India and DGM India, I am dedicated to making a positive impact through my work.
