ABOUT MUKUL BHATTACHARYA
My research interests are primarily concentrated in the field of theoretical high-energy astrophysics. I study the underlying physics of transient phenomena such as fast radio bursts (FRBs) of unknown origin detected from random sky locations, gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) generated from the collapse of massive stars and gravitational waves (GWs) released from the mergers of binary neutron star/black hole systems. I perform detailed theoretical modelling of the key physical processes operating in these transients and construct reliable numerical simulations to capture their non-linear dynamics and further predict future observations from the upcoming surveys.
