About Mukesh Kumar
Hello! I’m Mukesh Kumar, a development professional with a strong interest in rural development, social change, and public welfare. I come from Bihar and have completed my Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development Management (PGDRDM) from the National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), Hyderabad, and also hold a Master’s degree in Rural Management and Development from Patna University. With over 2 years of professional experience in the development sector, I have contributed to meaningful projects that aim to bring positive change. My core skills include project management, training, capacity building, documentation, counseling, advocacy, facilitation, report writing, stakeholder coordination, and effective communication. These skills have helped me achieve impactful results in the field. Currently, I am working as a Young Professional at Rythu Sadhikara Samstha (RySS) under the Government of Andhra Pradesh. My work focuses on supporting the implementation and promotion of community-based natural farming. I am involved in field visits, data collection, farmer interaction, and documenting best practices from the ground. Before this role, I worked as a Block Project Officer with the Centre for Catalyzing Change (C3) under Bihar SRLM (JEEViKA). In this role, I worked on gender inclusion and community mobilization. I led the formation of gender forums, organized training programs, collaborated with PRI members, and supported the setup of a Gender Resource Centre at the block level. I also completed an internship with the Odisha Society for Social Audit under the Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Department, Government of Odisha. I took part in conducting social audits of MGNREGA and studied how communities participate in the process. In addition, I interned with Charm Organization and Piramal Foundation, where I worked on public health campaigns and elderly outreach programs. During my academic journey, I took part in several live projects and field visits across Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha, where I studied rural communities and used LEAP tools. My Master’s dissertation focused on the Jal Jeevan Mission in Patna, examining its impact on access to safe water. At NIRDPR, I also completed a live project on mulching farming in Rangareddy District, studying farming practices, Tools, and outcomes. I am passionate about learning from communities and helping strengthen programs at the grassroots.
