I am a Chartered Accountant and a CFA charterholder from the CFA Institute, USA, with over a decade of experience in credit underwriting, equity research, financial analysis, and investment advisory across the UK, India, and the GCC region.Currently, I am part of the Credit team at OakNorth Bank in India, where I oversee the Trading Loans underwriting function. My role involves end-to-end assessment of SME loan proposals, including financial analysis, credit risk assessment, and deal structuring. I also oversee the PD and LGD models used for the bank’s provisioning purposes. In addition to my core underwriting responsibilities, I actively contribute to strategic and ad hoc initiatives—ranging from supporting the bank’s digital lending journey to broader credit-related strategy and transformation projects, including those involving GenAI.Earlier in my career, I worked on a range of assignments including opportunity assessment, transaction advisory, financial modeling, and valuation across sectors such as financial services, media & telecom, and diversified industries in the GCC region.Previously, I was associated with Abacus Advisory Services, where I managed investment portfolios with a focus on the Indian mid and small cap segment. I also worked with Copal Partners (a Moody’s Group company) as an Equity Research Analyst, preparing in-depth equity research reports on the banking sector in India and the UAE.Views are my own.
