I am an MSc Chemistry graduate from National Institute of Technology Karnataka with a strong academic foundation and a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from Hindu College, University of Delhi. I currently work as a Lab & Production Chemist in the lubricant industry, where I am involved in quality control testing, lubricant analysis, and production support.My work focuses on ASTM-based lubricant testing, including kinematic viscosity, viscosity index, TBN, CCS, flash point, pour point, density, foaming characteristics, and ICP metal analysis. I actively support the lubricant blending process, verify formulations, and ensure product quality through laboratory analysis and documentation.Earlier in my career, I gained research and industry exposure as a Research Associate Trainee at Syngene International Limited in the Discovery Chemistry department, contributing to pharmaceutical R&D projects. I also completed a summer internship at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, where I worked on reservoir core analysis.In addition to technical experience, I served as the Internship & Placement Coordinator at National Institute of Technology Karnataka, facilitating recruitment drives and strengthening industry–academia collaboration.I am a Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2023 qualified candidate with strong laboratory skills, chemical analysis expertise, and experience working with analytical instruments. Perform quality control analysis of raw materials, in-process blends, and finished lubricant products to ensure compliance with company specifications and international ASTM standards. • Conduct kinematic viscosity testing at 40°C and 100°C (ASTM D7279) and calculate Viscosity Index (ASTM D2270) to evaluate lubricant temperature–viscosity performance. • Carry out Total Base Number (TBN) analysis using ASTM D2896 to assess detergent additive concentration in engine oils. • Perform pour point testing (ASTM D97) and flash point testing (ASTM D92) to determine low-temperature flow properties and safety parameters of lubricants. • Conduct density testing at 29.5°C (ASTM D4052) with temperature conversion calculations for accurate product specification. • Perform foaming characteristics testing (ASTM D892) to evaluate air entrainment and foam stability in lubricants. • Carry out Cold Cranking Simulator (CCS) testing at temperatures from -10°C to -35°C (ASTM D5293) to determine low-temperature cranking performance of engine oils. • Conduct color testing (ASTM D1500) and appearance evaluation (clear/hazy) for product quality verification. • Perform ICP metal analysis (ASTM D4951) for detection and quantification of metallic additives and elements in lubricant samples. • Support the lubricant blending and production process by verifying formulations, monitoring additive dosage, and assisting with batch adjustments. • Inspect and approve incoming base oils and additive packages through laboratory testing before production use. • Investigate off-spec results and collaborate with production teams to implement corrective actions and maintain product consistency. • Prepare and maintain Certificates of Analysis (COA), batch reports, and laboratory documentation in accordance with quality management procedures. • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments and compliance with laboratory safety standards.
