Reporting to the President of the Association, my key responsibilities includes but not limited to, researching, analyzing, and developing solutions to support our member companies in the preparation of interim and year-end financial statements and supporting exhibits required under regulatory and standard setting authorities. As a subject matter expert working closely with member companies CFO\'s, solvency reviewers, vendors, and finance and accounting business partners.Research and Analysiso Researches requirements in financial reporting for P&C insurers.o Monitors the accounting standards and financial services regulatory environment.o Interprets new standards or requirements and assessing against the existing environment.o Anticipates the impact of new standards or requirements for planning and development purposes.o Documents findings and recommendations.o Contributes to or leads research projects on risk assessment, capital management and solvency Development and Support o Adapts or creates solutions to facilitate member company financial reporting o Sources and works with business partners in acquiring services for financial reporting solutions.o Educates members on new financial reporting developments.o Maintains reference material.o Trouble shoots financial reporting systems and deliveryo Facilitates the work of OMIA’s Accounting Advisory Committee and Accountants Roundtable.o Supports the Financial Review Committee in accessing financial data.o Manages OMIA’s business relationships with key professional services advisory partners. Communication and Teamworko Leads project teams and provides input and updates to Accounting Advisory Committee o Organizes and contributes to workshops for accounting professionals.o Communicates with member companies, Accounting Advisory Committee, and business partners. o At the direction of the President acts as spokesperson or representative for OMIA on working groups or committees.
