ABOUT MUHAMMAD MIZANUR SHUVRA

With over 15 years of experience in teaching and managing research programs across North America and Asia, I bring a unique blend of expertise in public health, medicine, and program evaluation. I hold an undergraduate degree in Medicine and Surgery and an MPH from the James P Grant School of Public Health (BRAC University), where I was honored with the prestigious ‘Fazle Hasan Abed Award for Best Overall Performance’. My career began with pioneering work in piloting WHO-funded Problem-Based Learning (PBL) initiatives in medical colleges in Bangladesh, which later scaled to a national level. I co-led Bangladesh’s first mHealth project funded by the World Bank Development Marketplace Award, contributing to groundbreaking innovations in healthcare delivery. I have held faculty positions at prestigious institutions, including George Washington University, where I developed and taught courses in Global Health Methods and Data Analysis. My academic roles expanded across several universities in Bangladesh, teaching biostatistics, epidemiology, and pharmaceutical statistics while serving as a Senior Research Investigator and later Deputy Project Coordinator at icddr,b. I am passionate about contributing to the development of innovative undergraduate and postgraduate courses in public health and medicine and leading research initiatives. Currently seeking new opportunities to advance public health education and research through teaching, curriculum design, and program evaluation.
