King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology 1. Research on Diffusion Bonding, Automotive and Aerospace Alloys, Joining of Dissimilar Metals, lightweight alloys, additive manufacturing of metallurgy and materials, and supporting the day-to-day running of the Electron Microscopy Unit.2. Instrument training provided to new and existing users/researchers/engineers, as well as graduate students of the universities.3. Advise users on their experimental design and the use of appropriate analytical methods4. Ensure consumables are available and plan the lab\'s needs.5. Have a good understanding of how the equipment functions and the healthy being of the systems.6. Liaise with service engineers and equipment providers to maintain the instrumentation and minimise downtime.7. Keep up to date with subject-related and professional issues. This involves visiting the equipment suppliers, as well as attending conferences and microscopy forums.8. Keep up to date with all mandatory training, including local health, safety policies & procedures.9. Manage the local booking system to regulate access to the equipment & monitor usage.10. Contribute to the development & delivery of research experiments/practicals where appropriate.11. Support other technical team members within the university as needed.12. Reporting to the lab director regarding the status of equipment healthy being & revenue collection
