   Brown Mamas

   Brown Mamas started out as an idea that Muffy had back in 2012 to make new friends and celebrate Black motherhood. What started as a few women meeting in each other’s living rooms and in the last 7 years has blossomed into Pittsburgh’s largest support group for African-American mothers. Brown Mamas has grown to touch the lives of nearly mothers each week through our super engaged Facebook group, email marketing campaigns and in-person monthly meetups.In the past Brown Mamas has earned generous support from philanthropic organizations like the former Sprout Fund, The Pittsburgh Foundation, Awesome Pittsburgh and the Women and Girls Foundation.As the Chief Tribe Builder, Muffy has created a line of educational products for Black mothers called The Brown Mama Mindset series. The Brown Mama Mindset was featured at the 2018 Essence Festival. In addition, Brown Mamas is expanding its reach. In 2020, it will launch two chapters outside of the Pittsburgh region.Over the years Muffy has worked with brands, businesses and nonprofits as an influencer. Brands like IKEA, Northwood Realty, Bolthouse Farms and Allegheny Health Network. Muffy has also been nominated for a prestigious Iris Award in 2018.Currently, Muffy is the executive producer of the annual, sold-out showcase The Brown Mama Monologues and is working to debut a line of digital products for Black moms.
