About Muddassir Maqsood Ahmed
I am a Civil Engineering graduate from Bradley University, with a specialization in Structural Engineering and a minor in Transportation Engineering. I am currently working as a Structural Engineer in Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc, collaborating closely with the Water Resources group on the wastewater treatment plant projects. My background combines strong academic foundations with hands-on industry experience in structural design, construction, and infrastructure projects.As a Graduate Research Assistant at Bradley University, I gained experience in research, grading, and mentoring while contributing to an IDOT-funded study on anti-graffiti protection systems, where I provided data-driven recommendations to support policy decisions. I further built practical field and design expertise as an Engineering Technician I intern at IDOT, contributing to the I-74 Eastbound Bridge Replacement Project, and as a Structural Engineer Intern at SM Structural Consultant in India, where I worked on building analysis and design using industry-standard software. These roles strengthened my skills in structural analysis, field inspections, BIM modeling, and project documentation, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications.I have also led and contributed to diverse academic projects, including BIM 4D simulation and clash detection, pavement management strategies, traffic impact studies, and multi-storey building design, strengthening my technical expertise in both transportation and structural domains.Looking ahead, I am actively preparing for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam as part of my path toward becoming a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and a licensed Structural Engineer (SE). I am motivated to continue growing as a structural engineer, with a strong interest in the design, analysis, inspection, and rehabilitation of wastewater treatment facilities and large-scale infrastructure projects.
