ABOUT MUBEEN HUSSAIN
I work at the intersection of community led grantmaking, faith informed humanitarian response, and equitable social impact.I currently serve as a UK Programmes Officer at Islamic Relief UK, where I support the design and delivery of UK wide programmes alongside grassroots organisations, funders, and partners. My work spans emergency response, food security, volunteering, and capacity building, with a strong focus on dignity, accountability, and community ownership.Over the past several years, I have collaborated with more than 115 national and local partners and contributed to programme coordination, needs assessments, reporting, and learning. I am particularly motivated by work that strengthens local leadership and ensures funding and support reach communities in ways that are inclusive, trauma informed, and culturally grounded.I have a strong interest in equitable funding practices, participatory approaches, and faith based social action, especially where values driven work meets strategy, evidence, and measurable impact.I have been recognised as a UN Women UK HeForShe nominee and an Inspire Awards finalist, and I remain driven by opportunities to learn, collaborate, and contribute to work that creates meaningful and lasting change.I am always open to conversations around grantmaking, partnerships, community innovation, and leadership within the social impact and humanitarian space.
