Personal Statement \"My lifelong quest for knowledge in science and my compassion for people were the basis of my interest in Medicine as a career. I was first attracted to Radiology as a Specialty due to the amazing technologies continuously emerging, utilized to diagnose and treat patients. Interventional Radiology introduced me to procedures that enabled me to really make a difference in the lives of my patients, with the benefits of increased patient comfort and shortened hospital stays. My goal in interacting with each patient or exam that I see is to give the same level of concern and care that I would want for myself or my family.\" Bio Dr. Mark Stephan, a Lafayette, LA native, is a graduate of USL and LSU Medical School at New Orleans. He served his internship and Radiology Residency at The Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, serving as Chief Resident in 19••••86. Dr. Stephan subsequently trained as a Fellow in Interventional Radiology at University of Texas/M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston. He has been engaged in the private practice of radiology in the Greater Lafayette area for the past 25 years. Dr. Stephan is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology and has been granted Board Certification in Diagnostic Radiology, Neuroradiology and Interventional Radiology, and is a Senior Member of the American Society of Neuroradiology. He has served as a board member of MedicineLouisiana and has served as Vice-President and President of the Radiological Society of Louisiana, a Chapter of the American College of Radiology. Dr. Stephan has appeared in the Best Doctors in America Database since 1996 and Louisiana Life\'s Top Doctors database since 2006.
