iNERDE Inc. is a For Purpose Social Enterprise and its mission is to inspire and empower Malian youth by providing opportunities for them to attain their fullest potential. Our flagship project is a 3 months summer camp in Mali that aims to increase fundamental students’ ability (4th – 6th) in Science & Math and their interest in pursuing STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) career fields, by having them engage in interactive, team-based engineering and science projects. STEM literacy in Mali is a knowledge area that is not required of fundamental school students until Secondary education (Senior High School). However, studies have showed that by 4th grade, 33% children express negative attitudes towards science. This increases to 50% by 8th grade. With such educational system, there is an urgency to care for Mali’s future. A future that depends on the youth and the education they are bound to receive.
