ABOUT SAMANTHA COTTER
Knights is a premium provider of legal and professional services, operating throughout the UK in key regions outside London. Our specialists deliver a full suite of integrated corporate services to a highly diverse client base, as well as synergistic private wealth services to individuals. In January 2016 I joined Knights as an Associate in the Employment team, I was promoted to Senior Associate in October 2016, and took the opportunity to join the HR team in the role of HR Projects Manager in November 2019. My work includes assisting the Knights management team with projects, providing input from the HR team and using my experience of advising clients in employment matters to provide support to the HR Director and wider management team. Using the skills developed working as an employment lawyer and from my masters in Human Resources Management, I have been working with the operations team alongside my client work for a number of years, but when the opportunity presented itself to join the HR team team on a full time basis, I jumped at the chance. I now work on specific projects across the firm, providing advice and support from an HR perspective, with a focus on supporting Knights ambitious growth plans. I have always prided myself on providing a personal service to clients, getting to know them and their business to provide commercially minded and relevant advice. Working in-house in an operational HR role for Knights gives me the opportunity to really get to know my client, and contribute to the future success of the business in a more hands on and practical way. I am a committee member for the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Branch of the CIPD, and work on a voluntary basis as Policy Adviser for the local branch.
