About Matthew Shomper
My passion projects:https://github.com/mshomperMatthew is an award-winning leader in the computational design of advanced 3D-printed medical implants, with fifteen years of experience in engineering, research, and innovation. He is the founder and principal engineer of Not a Robot Engineering, a premier engineering consultancy firm that excels at providing solutions where internal teams or other consultants have fallen short. His lends his technical services as a fractional CTO to companies like Allumin8 and Uniphorm, each building class-leading solutions in their respective fields. In addition, he is a guest lecturer at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he shares his insights and expertise on biomimicry, computational modeling, and additive manufacturing.Matthew\'s work is driven by his passion for exploring the macro and micro of biological forms, turning algorithms into functional structures for physical devices. He has pioneered the idea of a “biologically advantageous implant,” and leads various areas of research on reducing an implant’s footprint inside of the body. He has also spearheaded multiple public initiatives to synthesize biological structures as computational models for use in engineered products. His work has been published in multiple journals and magazines, and he is a regularly-referenced expert and speaker on topics related to next-gen modeling and additive development. Matthew\'s mission is to bridge his deep curiosity about mathematics and the natural sciences with a drive to bring these ideas through execution in a form that can truly impact our lives.\"Virtually all creative endeavors have limitations. Although boundless creativity exists inside the human brain, a substantial constraint of humans is the inability to parse and process large datasets. Computational design removes this limitation, giving designers the ability to morph this data into functional products, solutions, and actions\"* iRobot - Jon Bellion** Human After All - Daft Something Human - Museky
