Conceptualized and lead Explore the Wild, a statewide discovery platform for outdoor recreation; built the database unifying all state & federal public lands in Virginia plus many county/municipal properties. • Manage statewide quota-hunt lotteries end-to-end (eligibility, selection, notifications, reporting); streamline workflows and ensure policy compliance. • Direct the Natural Area Preserves Deer Management Program with the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation; integrate mentored hunts, standardized protocols, and monitoring across sites. • Develop and negotiate MOUs and Good Neighbor Agreements with the U.S. Forest Service (GW/Jeff National Forest) to align access, habitat work, and program operations. • Design and deploy human-dimensions surveys; build dashboards to translate participant feedback into program improvements. • Stand up GIS/data pipelines and property-level reporting that link access metrics, habitat management, and outcomes for decision support. • Started and manage the Virginia Birding Classic, a statewide public-lands birding competition that mobilizes teams across WMAs, parks, and refuges. • Lead cross-functional teams (Wildlife, Outreach, IT, Legal, Communications); drive project planning, budgets, grants, vendor coordination, and stakeholder engagement. • Represent the agency in multi-agency working groups; brief leadership; deliver public presentations and plain-language updates.
