ABOUT ERIN ROBERTS
Music and theatre have captured my heart and imagination since my earliest memories, and I have channeled that enthusiasm for song, scene and dance into a career in performance, directing and teaching music and theatre, including recent performances with San Diego Opera, San Diego Symphony, La Jolla Playhouse and Diversionary Theatre, and teaching/directing projects with La Jolla High School, Junior Theatre, San Diego Unified School District, and my own private studio. I\'m currently attending National University, pursuing a Master of Education + Single Subject Credentials in Music and English, and hold a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance from University of Minnesota. What I love most about arts education is the opportunity to help students discover who they are as a person through music and theatre. The process of finding one’s voice, experimenting with one’s talents, and trying out new skills brings lifelong benefits to my students. I love watching them gain confidence, creativity and social-emotional awareness through my classes, as well as the technical skills needed to succeed in the real world of the performing arts. I’m proud to say that many of my students have gone on to participate in choirs or youth symphony ensembles, theatre companies all over San Diego, arts magnets schools, and University level music and theatre programs.
