Austin, TX, US

I lead the development and operation of Central Health’s Biomedical Engineering (HTM) department, building the program from the ground up following the transition away from a third-party service model. My role combines strategic planning, regulatory compliance, technical leadership, and hands-on execution to establish a sustainable, high-performing in-house biomed operation across multiple clinical sites.I am responsible for designing and implementing department structure, policies, procedures, workflows, and service standards aligned with regulatory and accreditation requirements, including TJC, CMS, and NFPA. This includes creating SOPs, Policies & Procedures, and Methods of Procedure (MOPs) to standardize equipment support, vendor coordination, downtime response, and lifecycle management.I assist in enterprise asset management initiatives, including inventory validation, equipment retagging, PM schedule restructuring, and CMMS optimization (ServiceNow-based), ensuring compliance readiness, accurate tracking, and improved operational visibility. I serve as the primary technical authority for medical equipment, partnering with clinical teams, facilities, IT, vendors, and leadership to support daily operations, new clinic openings, and the introduction of new medical technologies. In parallel, I manage vendor performance and service escalation, improve response times, and drive cost-effective maintenance strategies while prioritizing patient safety and equipment uptime. I also provide technical leadership and mentorship to biomed staff and am actively designing a scalable departmental model to support future growth. My focus is on building systems—not just fixing equipment—by creating a modern, compliant, and resilient Biomedical Engineering department that strengthens patient care, clinician trust, and organizational efficiency.
