About Anna Tuttle Delia
A deeply personal, committed, enthusiastic, and captivating educator and administrator, generating innovation across all initiatives. I can take huge ideas and bring the roadmap to the team (and to the deadline). I can take sparks of ideas and apply vision, energy, and the right partners to watch them grow. Every learning experience I design is one you wish you had as a child. I bring deep experience in the maker movement, school gardens, service learning, fabrication, integrated curricular projects, outreach, fundraising, international travel, and experiential education. I blend student-centered, inquiry-focused pedagogy with frameworks to buoy creativity, empowerment, agency, and dignity. This is what we owe every child and every learner. 18+ years of experience teaching and leading in Independent Schools in Tennessee and Ohio; a recognized curriculum designer and frequent presenter of Science and Maker Education best practices (FabxLive, Construct3D, NSTA, NCTM, ISACS, T3 International, among others). An author and teacher of student-centered, inquiry-driven curriculum focusing on integrated science-math and science-art units, environmental studies, and maker education. Recent external-facing projects include co-Founder and Lead Instructor of the Fab Play Institute for Maker Educators (in practice for 6+ years); built Fab Play @ Home, an online clearinghouse of hands-on fabrication activities for young learners everywhere; content creator & manager of the Hawken Fab Play YouTube Channel, now with thousands of views; MICRO Museum of Health K-12 Curriculum (funded through a grant from Johnson & Johnson); and the Tinker Train Curriculum for Early Childhood (Co-Author, funded through a grant from the Stocker Family Foundation).Career Highlight: As the Founding Director of the Goldberg Innovation Lab for PS-8 students at Hawken School, a 3600 sq. ft. Fabrication, Science Lab, and Woodshop facility, I managed over 100 unique, creative fabrication projects for 600+ students and 80+ faculty every school year. Over three years, I saw this facility and accompanying programming from concept to inception and implementation into the center of our school culture of open access learning and maker empowerment. An alumni of The American School in Japan, my unique personal strengths include conversational fluency in Japanese, extensive international travel, and leading with a collaborative, global mindset. Proud parent of 2 children enrolled in Independent Schools and wife of a Cleveland firefighter.
