ABOUT MRITHIKA HARIKRISHNAN
I am a curious, driven, and analytically minded postgraduate student with a strong interest in using data and artificial intelligence to understand patterns, solve real-world problems, and create meaningful impact through technology.I am currently pursuing an MSc in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at Newcastle University, where I work across advanced machine learning, deep learning, image processing, statistics, and data visualisation. My postgraduate focus is strongly application-oriented, with an emphasis on transforming complex data into clear, interpretable insights rather than treating AI as purely theoretical.As part of my MSc, I am contributing to a live sustainability-focused research project analysing real-world domestic water consumption data. My work involves data preprocessing, exploratory analysis, structured analytical workflows, and the design of user-centred visualisations to support smarter resource usage and evidence-based decision-making.Previously, I completed a Bachelor of Computer Applications specialising in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, building a strong foundation in programming, analytics, and applied AI through rigorous coursework and hands-on projects. These included employee attrition prediction models, full-stack web applications, and an AI-powered fashion platform as my final-year dissertation, focused on personalised recommendations and user-centric system design.Alongside academics, I have gained practical exposure through internships, freelance work, and part-time roles. I have worked as an AI Product Manager Intern on AI-driven applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams on product planning and deployment. I also run a freelance CV content service, combining structured thinking, writing, and design to help individuals present their professional journeys effectively.Technically, I work primarily with Python and machine learning workflows, with experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, React, MySQL, and Linux environments. I continuously upskill through applied projects, certifications, and independent learning.Beyond technical skills, I value communication, collaboration, and continuous growth. Balancing postgraduate study with part-time work in the UK has strengthened my adaptability, time management, and teamwork in fast-paced environments.
