ABOUT MRINMOY GHOSH

Mrinmoy has received academic training in History, Ethnography, and Anthropology. His scholarly pursuits are deeply rooted in the study of Adivasi culture and consciousness, with a particular focus on transcultural and cross-cultural psychiatry and the intricate intersections of medical and psychological anthropology. His research interests extend to the phenomenological exploration of mental illness and well-being, the role of traditional healers, and the practices of shamanism, magic, and spiritual experiences within indigenous communities. Moreover, he examines the social construction of phenomena such as voice-hearing and visionary experiences. His work is characterized by a commitment to collaborative research with Indigenous communities in India. Through these partnerships, he seeks to critically re-evaluate and innovate community-based mental health services by integrating traditional knowledge systems and spiritual practices. His efforts are directed towards harnessing indigenous therapeutic techniques, thereby contributing to advancing Adivasi\'s well-being in India. This integrative approach underscores the efficacy of Indigenous knowledge in addressing contemporary mental health challenges, positioning at the forefront of a vital interdisciplinary dialogue within the global academic community.
