Mi occupo personalmente di coordinare lo sviluppo di nuovi progetti in ambito Generation & Energy Management. In particolare progetti UVAM (Unità Virtuali Abilitate Miste), sistemi di Fast Reserve, REC (Comunità Energetiche Virtuali) e quant\'altro vede l’interazione tra generazione di energia elettrica e la gestione della stessa per esigenze di carattere economico e/o tecnico. Tale attività richiede molta interazione oltre che con enti esterni anche con colleghi di altre funzioni aziendali. Il team GEM Business Development vanta anche un gruppo di pregevoli data analyst che ho il piacere di coordinare, impegnati nello sviluppo e nella gestione di strumenti utili alla comprensione del mercato energetico, con un particolare focus verso gli impianti di generazione termoelettrici e i servizi alla rete elettrica nazionale. Gli stessi si occupano anche di progettare, sviluppare e gestire modelli previsionali e ottimizzatori utili ad altri team da me coordinati.

ABOUT MICHELE PRINCIPATO
I am passionate about continuous improvement, technology, and all aspects of energy management.I have a technical background, starting as a Surveyor and then advancing to Electrical/Energy Engineering. After completing my bachelor\'s degree, I gained immediate work experience at a consulting firm, which served as a springboard for my thesis at Sorgenia, where I have since built my career.In the early years, I focused on the technical aspects of the group\'s CCGTs, conducting performance tests and analyzing both performance and various issues. This experience instilled in me a meticulous approach to technical and business processes and a keen attention to learning from mistakes, which has defined my career.After gaining technical experience, I became interested in studying dispatching rules to reduce plant imbalances. This led to the opportunity to become the Head of Dispatching for Sorgenia\'s CCGT plants in the energy market within the Energy Management area.Over the years, my team and I have developed processes to simplify the management of energy and service markets, adhering to Capacity Market constraints. We learned the rules of gas procurement, becoming market users on MGAS platforms. We manage auctions for zonal price coverage and collaborate with regulatory colleagues to help define new market rules, seizing every opportunity that comes our way. In over 10 years, we have overcome crises and contributed to the company\'s significant achievements.Since 2020, leveraging the technical and business knowledge acquired, we formed a new group to explore new business opportunities in Energy Management. We quickly took charge of the authorization processes for \"utility scale\" batteries (BESS) within our CCGT plants (MASE procedure). My team and I developed a new market model to evaluate the revenue of the most important business lines of the BESS system, thanks to our extensive experience in the energy market. This enabled us to participate in Fast Reserve, Capacity Market, and MACSE auctions.
