I established the City\'s digital services team in 2017 and have led it through maturation. The team has two main objectives:1. Design, develop, and manage a product portfolio that enables City departments to communicate effectively with the public. Products include the Seattle.gov website, department blogs, newsletters and press releases, event calendars, and social media.2. Guide the digital experience for all public-facing web applications through the style guide, digital policies, and user experience strategy. Oversee Citywide branding, design, content, and accessibility.Tactics include- Scale the team’s impact by developing and iterating on robust product operations to standardize digital communications platforms- Guide Citywide design, usability, and accessibility standards for public-facing web applications, leading a shift from organizational focus to human-centered design- Drive a product culture, helping Seattle IT managers and internal clients adopt product development best practices- Build partnerships with stakeholders across City departments to identify and prioritize opportunities to leverage digital tools, resulting in greater community engagement.
