Active research protocols include quantifying intracellular signal transduction in response to drugs that promote either inflammation or resolution with healing. Particularly interested in prostaglandins, resolvins, and their modulation by sex steroids and the glutaminergic system. Formerly the Vice President of Imaging for Endocyte, Inc. The vision was to develop companion imaging agents with small molecule drug conjugates to provide non-invasive, whole body, real time assessments of molecular disease status for selecting patients who might respond to targeted chemotherapies. Chose to specialize in nuclear neuroimaging as a second year medical student. Originally trained in psychiatry, and then nuclear medicine. Special skills in quantifying treatment-induced changes in tumor volumes with x-ray CT. 19••••01: University of Pennsylvania. Over $6MM in research funding as principal investigator, mostly from NIH grants with some pharma industry contracts. Conducted 11 Phase I trials for-registration.20••••12, 20••••17: Over 13 years of experience in pharma, with progressively increasing responsibilities and promotions, including NDA submissions to the FDA based on imaging outcome measures.20••••15: From Merck to Professor & Chief of the Division of Nuclear Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC) and NewYork Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. Also served as a chair of a WCMC Institutional Review Board (IRB). Over $2MM in pharma funding. Left Cornell for rare opportunity at Endocyte, and returned to Cornell when Endocyte faltered.Over 100 peer reviewed publications and counting, most of which demonstrate core competency in novel drug development with quantitative biomarkers.
