ABOUT MOY VALDEZ
I started in public service at the young age of 12, volunteering as a jury member for the Clark County Law Foundation. A year later, I became and worked as a Lawyer/Peer mentor for minors who committed first offense misdemeanors. My skills in Public Speaking, Management, and Public Policy began to be prominent in my life around this time, as I stood in front of official Judges, Lawyers, and Jury Members to argue in behalf of my clients. During the Pandemic, my family and I moved to California in search for better education and job opportunities. Since then, I’ve attended Cal State San Marcos where I became the youngest student body president, I’ve attended Sacramento State University where I worked for the California State Senate, and had the opportunity to intern in D.C. for the United States Senate, being one of the youngest in my cohort. I’ve heard the phrase “you aren’t old enough” too much in my life and I’m on a journey to prove to every young American that the political life is just as much an opportunity for us as it is for our senior peers. If a minority lower class person such as myself can achieve such a feat, anyone can.
