ABOUT MOUSA ALSHANTEER

Mousa is currently an associate attorney at Brooks Pierce who specializes in general business and non-profit, transactional, and administrative and regulatory matters. Mousa has represented clients of all types and sizes in general business and non-profit matters, such as entity formation and organization, including dissolution and reorganization, corporate governance, and contract drafting and negotiation. He has also planned, negotiated, and documented transactions of different sizes across several industries, such as mergers and acquisitions (including both purchases and sales) and private equity financing.In his practice, Mousa has advised various persons, including physicians, social workers, veterinarians, group practices, hospitals, and surgery centers, as well as other licensees on a wide variety of general business and non-profit matters, transactional matters, and administrative and regulatory compliance.Mousa serves as Secretary of the North Carolina Muslim Bar Association, a non-profit organization, and as Treasurer of the North Carolina Bar Association Health Law Section. He graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law in May 2021 with honors. While at Carolina, Mousa served as a staff member on the North Carolina Journal of Law and Technology, and secretary of the Carolina Health Law Organization.Mousa previously served as a summer associate at Brooks Pierce and Smith Anderson. Prior to law school, Mousa attained several years of diverse experience within the legal field, having served within various capacities at Waldrep LLP, the Office of the Greensboro City Attorney, the Office of the Guilford County District Attorney and the Office of the Guilford County Public Defender. Mousa graduated from Duke University in May 2016 with Latin honors of magna cum laude and membership within the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. At Duke, Mousa served as the managing editor of The Chronicle, the independent daily newspaper at the University. His writing has been published within such publications as The Charlotte Observer, The Greensboro News and Record, The High Point Enterprise and The Raleigh News and Observer. Mousa\'s hobbies include basketball, hiking, surface water activities (canoeing, kayaking, etc.), swimming, and writing.
