Synthetic organometallic and electroanalytical chemist with strong leadership, project management and interpersonal skills-• 6+ years of experience in synthesizing organometallic complexes for solar energy harvesting under photo and electrochemical conditions• 2+ years of applying electroanalytical techniques to optimize the reactivity and selectivity of electrocatalysts • Multiple project management under minimal supervision using effective multi-tasking and time management skills• Recruited and mentored undergraduate researchers and guided them in preparing manuscripts and grant applications• Collaborated with peers in spearheading two distinct research projects, in parallel, in a newly established lab that resulted in a new grant approval and manuscript preparation• Prompt troubleshooting skill in maintaining various chromatography instruments • Excellent communication skill in popularizing science in an exciting and generalized manner for undergraduates (https://chembites.org/author/moukol2011/) and preparing SOPs and grant applicationTECHNICAL SKILLSNMR IR UV/VIS GC/MS ICP-MS IC PXRD SEM TEM XPS TGA Cyclic Voltammetry Controlled Potential Electrolysis Chemdraw Origin DFT
Experience
Carbon Capture Research Scientist
Jan 2022 — Present · Durham, NC, US
Development of non-aqueous solvent (NAS) technology for carbon dioxide absorption• Synthesized and characterized novel amines and tested their affinity towards carbon dioxide absorption. Structure and property relationship of several amines were tested and their physical properties were measured. Application of such technology were demonstrated from lab scale to full plant scale. Technoeconomic and life cycle analyses were performed to assess the viability of using these amines at commercial scale. Development of carbon dioxide conversion processes• Developed several electrochemical and thermochemical routes to convert carbon dioxide to alternate fuel and value added chemicals in the presence of catalysts.Supporting commercial partner SLB to deploy NAS technology in the commercial scale• Aided in several process chemistry related troubleshooting, and characterization of several chemicals by analytical methods.
