Full-time PhD involved in an international level “HoTMiX Project” jointly with the UM6P Thermomechanical properties of refractory materials, influence of the diffuse microcracking• Working on natural sintered and electrofused refractory material in close collaboration with St-Gobain & CeramTec® • Improvement of specific techniques for the thermomechanical characterization of refractory materials• Characterization of high temperature mechanical properties (elasticity, thermal expansion, stress/strain laws, damage monitoring, thermal shock behaviour) of these different materials, with a particular attention on non-linear behaviour during tensile and compressive loadings• Interpretation of the obtained results in relation with microstructure evolution versus temperature, investigated by XRD, SEM-EDS and EBSD • Contribution to experiments at synchrotron facilities: at ESRF in Grenoble, France, and at BESSY II in Berlin, Germany in order to understand the mechanical behavior at the nanoscale to better interpret the thermomechanical behavior at the macroscale.
