ABOUT MORRIS ODEH

Morris Odeh is an experienced trial and business attorney. In his capacity as an Associate in the Dispute Resolution, Power and Construction Sector groups of Aluko & Oyebode, a leading law firm in Nigeria, he has advised several clients, including indigenous and multinational corporations, on various legal issues. These include matters bordering on energy laws and policies, banking, labour, taxation, regulatory compliance, corporate finance, intellectual property, technology, environment, debt recovery, sports, and construction. Morris regularly ensures that transactions assigned to him are effectively planned, structured, managed, and resourced for success. His thoroughness, team spirit, commitment to excellence, passion for his clients, self-motivation, in-depth knowledge of the law, and understanding of clients\' businesses makes him an invaluable asset to any organization. Morris has written widely on dispute resolution and other critical legal issues. He regularly contributes to Gravitas Law Review, a leading law journal in Nigeria. He is also a regional coordinator of “Tableland for the Oppressed,” a registered non-governmental association (NGO), dedicated to ensuring the protection of human rights. The NGO also provides pro-bono services to indigent suspects, prisoners, and defendants in several courts in Nigeria. He is also the secretary of “Professor Emmanuel Olubusayo Orthodontic Advancement Foundation,” a registered non-governmental association (NGO) in Nigeria. The NGO seeks to provide free dental care to children, the elderly, and indigent Nigerians. Morris is also the patron of \"Heal Our World Foundation,\" a non-governmental organization in Nigeria. The association was established in 2019 and seeks to eradicate the growing number of out-of-school children in Nigeria, particularly those involved in child labour. The association has, since its inception, organized several campaigns and outreaches. Morris just completed an LL.M. program at Dalhousie University. He was awarded Roy A Jodrey Scholarship, Nova Scotia Graduate Scholarship, and Schulich Law School Foundation Scholarship for his LL.M research. Morris\' research centers on the intersections of intellectual property law, robotics, machine learning, technology law, and artificial intelligence, with a specific focus on patenting inventions generated by artificial intelligence systems having regard to legal, ethical, and policy considerations.
