ABOUT MORITZ KRAEMER
Moritz Kraemer is Professor of Epidemiology & Data Science at the University of Oxford, the co-director of Pandemic Genomics at the Oxford Martin School and co-founder of Global.health (https://global.health/).Under his leadership, world-class global interdisciplinary teams are driving research in foundational and applied biomedical sciences, pathogen genomics, and how societal and environmental changes impact health today and in the future. Moritz leads multiple initiatives with partnerships across academia, industry, and policy to improve translation of science into action, often by building tools that are accessible to millions of users. He is currently leading multiple multi-million collaborative awards from the Rockefeller Foundation, Google.org, the Wellcome Trust, European Horizon Programme, UK Research and Innovation, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Medical Research Foundation, and the Novo Nordisk Foundation. His academic work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Nature, Science, Cell, the Lancet and his research has been featured widely in newspapers, television, and the radio. Moritz frequently advises governments at national and international levels and is passionate about reducing the time from innovative research to impact on technology, products, science and society.
