About Morgan Joye
I am a process-oriented Economics and International Business student, with a minor in Spanish, at the University of South Carolina, driven by the intersection of financial markets and the law. My goal is to build a dynamic career that starts in the private sector before transitioning into high-level public service and policy- What I’m doing now:Currently, I work within the Securities Division of the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office. My recent focus has been on reviewing church extension funds and church bonds for compliance with the South Carolina Uniform Securities Act and NASAA requirements. Another objective I have is protecting state investors through due diligence on Investment Advisor (IA) firm filings, quantifying Assets Under Management (AUM) to income ratios and ensuring regulatory compliance via FINRA- Leadership & Impact:As Treasurer of the Phi Delta Phi Pre-Law Fraternity, I prioritize fiscal clarity and modernization. I recently led a strategic budget optimization that reduced member dues by 10% while implementing alternative payment structures to bolster accessibility for our members and liquidity for the organization. Beyond finance, I serve as an Outreach Coordinator for Gamecocks Aiding Refugees in Columbia (GARC), connecting the club with outside partner organizations. In this, I\'ve helped lead family game nights, create multilingual informational videos, and more- Why the Spanish Minor?I am minoring in Spanish to build authentic connections in a multilingual professional landscape. Whether working with domestic communities or future Latin American clientele, I believe language is a key tool for expanding my impact- Looking Ahead:I plan to begin law school in the Fall of 2028 with an interest in Securities, Antitrust, and M&A. I am eager to explore how economic theory informs legal strategy and eventually use that expertise to serve the public interest.
