Morgan is the co-founder and has served as co-chair of the Grin Gala event in Washington, DC since 2008. The Grin Gala is a formal cocktail event designed for the purpose of raising awareness about the mission of Operation Smile, raising funds to enable life-changing surgeries for children with facial deformities, and finally, encouraging philanthropy and international stewardship among young professionals. Operation Smile is a non-profit organization based in Norfolk, VA with a mission to mobilize a world of generous hearts to heal children\'s smiles and transform lives across the globe. Driven by a universal compassion for children, Operation Smile works worldwide to repair childhood facial deformities by delivering safe, effective surgical care directly to patients. Through forming global partnerships, sharing knowledge in international communities and building infrastructure where it is most needed, Operation Smile leaves a legacy that lives well beyond their medical missions, making a lasting difference in our world. Morgan and the other co-founders of the Grin Gala learned about Operation Smile through a dear family friend – Dr. Michael Clemmens – who inspired the founders with tales from his volunteer work on medical missions for Operation Smile in India and throughout the world. The founders were astounded to learn that Operation Smile can perform a life-changing surgery on a child for a donation of merely $240. As young professionals, Morgan and her friends understood that they could not afford to make a personal donation of thousands of dollars. Instead they pledged their time, energy and creativity to create an event to raise awareness about Operation Smile’s mission.
