ABOUT MOREY CARLSON

Morey is the Chief Accounting Officer at SoFi. SoFi’s mission is to help people achieve financial independence by getting their money right, providing access to a comprehensive suite of services in a single app that empowers members to borrow, save, spend, invest and protect their money. Morey leads the Controllership organization including Accounting, Financial Reporting & Policy, Tax & Transformation, SOX & Financial Data Governance, and Business Intelligence & Systems teams. Previously, Morey was the Chief Accountant and Controller for Mosaic, a leading fintech providing affordable financing solutions for residential solar and sustainable home improvement projects. Morey is responsible for the Controllership and Tax functions. Those responsibilities include corporate accounting, financial reporting, technical accounting assessment, tax accounting and compliance, internal controls, and finance transformation initiatives.Prior to Mosaic, Morey spent 10+ years at American Express in various leadership positions within the Controllership organization. He led global teams responsible for Bank financial reporting and compliance, Regulatory Reporting, M&A, SEC Reporting, and asset-backed securitization (ABS).Prior to American Express, Morey held various positions with Goldman Sachs and EY (in Salt Lake, Indianapolis, and Luxembourg). He spent several years at EY specializing in financial services.Morey has a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University majoring in Accounting and Finance and a Bachelors of Arts in Accounting from the University of Utah.
