ABOUT MORDECHAI TOOR

I have worked in leading-edge Architectural Practices throughout my career, from 10-employees to firms of over multidisciplinary staff. As a result, I have an excellent knowledge of conditions and demands required across different types of projects, including commercial, retail, residential, education, mixed-use redevelopments, heritage and conservation. This varied experience has allowed me to develop, evolve and refine my skills over the course of my career. Graduating from the University of Queensland, Australia, in 2004, I now have more than 15 years of experience in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction), including six years of practice experience in the U.K. I have specifically been involved in the BIM environment for more than 17 years, and I have worked on projects of various sizes and budgets. I have delivered 27 shopping centres, flats, schools, concerts halls, courts, award-wining commercial spaces, environmentally sensitive laboratories, iconic buildings such as the Norwich Castle and the Grade 1 listed buildings along Whitehall. I have built on strong technical expertise, and over the course of my career, I have overseen the development of BIM platforms, standards, workflows and techniques. A key current example that I have implemented whilst practising at Feilden+Mawson would be aligning the studios to BIM - Level 2. This can further be demonstrated in the writing of documentation, staff training, creating office templates and implementing the BS-1192 and ISO-19650 into the design process and day-to-day thinking and creativity of the studios. This helped ensure certainty in the information delivered and implemented - protocols, information management and BIM strategies in a multi-disciplinary environment. My overall experience has given me invaluable insight into the profession and encouraged my continued passion for architecture.
