ABOUT MOORTHI PICHUMANI
I am an academic leader and research administrator with 17+ years of cumulative experience in teaching, research, funded project development, innovation management, and institutional research governance. I currently serve as Professor and Head of the Department of Nanoscience and Technology at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore, and also as Convener of the Research and Ethical Committee and Member of the Governing Council.My academic foundation includes a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Navarra, Spain, with cum laude distinction, an M.Sc. in Materials Science with two gold medals, and a B.Sc. in Physics with University rank. My research interests span nanoscience, materials science, soft condensed matter, functional nanomaterials, sensing, environmental remediation, and translational interdisciplinary research.My professional work extends beyond individual research output into research systems building. I have been involved in research policy implementation, proposal scrutiny, publication analytics, scholar progress systems, research centre development, faculty appraisal, incentive frameworks, compliance, and institution-level coordination of research processes. I have also contributed through indexed publications, granted patents, government-funded and industry-sponsored projects, postdoctoral and doctoral mentoring, interdisciplinary collaborations, and research culture development.I am particularly interested in strengthening research ecosystems through high-quality publications, funded projects, innovation translation, industry partnerships, and structured research administration.
