Innovative leader in product development and award-winning mechanical engineer and industrial designer that has produced over 80 outdoor sports, aquatic, and agricultural products. Some of my leading products include Montie Gear Sling Shot, Montie Gear X-Rest, and Montie Gear Ultralight Knife. Since 2014, I have provided new product development for Pentair Aquatics Systems, which is a global aquatics company. During my corporate tenure, I directed and collaborated with a team to build and launch numerous aquatic products that impacted the residential pool experience. Results were achieved by increasing the functionality and performance of Pentair’s pool products. One of the reasons that I secured my position at Pentair was due to my product designs and advancements at Montie Design and Montie Gear. During my interview, I brought a few of my innovative products including the Montie Gear Y-Shot, X-Rest, and the Ultralight Knife so the interview panel could see my design and product development capabilities. Some of these products have been featured on national websites and media outlets. One of the reasons that Montie Gear has been successful is due to our customer focus. The Montie Gear philosophy is if you can solve one problem extremely well, you will create a product that people love. To achieve this mission, I conduct interviews during the design development process to discover consumer needs and develop customer empathy. These valuable insights are used to build products that enhance sports performance and improve quality of life. There are distinct stages of product development. Once the customer research is complete, industrial design and engineering phases lead to a series of prototypes. The prototypes go through vigorous testing, which includes stakeholder reviews. At that point, the products are launched into the marketplace and enjoyed by consumers around the world. Since 2007, I have obtained 10 U.S. patents for my innovations, which include aquatic products, electron microscope sample holders, a compact purifier, dual width umbrella, a green energy solution, and a spectrophotometer.
